His representative told the US media on Sunday that movie star Jeremy Renner, best known for his role as Hawkeye in several Marvel blockbusters, was in critical but stable condition following an accident.
According to a representative who spoke with The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline, Renner was plowing snow when he sustained serious injuries.
Renner's representative told the outlet, "We can confirm Jeremy is in critical but stable condition with injuries suffered after experiencing a weather-related accident while plowing snow earlier today," without specifying the location of the accident.
The unidentified representative continued, "His family is with him, and he is receiving excellent care." For his roles in "The Hurt Locker" and "The Town," Renner, 51, is up for two Oscars.
He has also played the superhero Hawkeye, Clint Barton, in several Marvel films and a recent miniseries.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Renner owns property near Mt. Rose-Ski Tahoe, a region that has been affected by winter storms near Reno, Nevada.
He recently shared information on social media about severe weather in the vicinity of Lake Tahoe, which is a world-renowned skiing destination and borders Nevada and California. Renner posted a picture of a snow-covered car with the caption "Lake Tahoe snowfall is no joke" on December 13.
