EPL Summary: Everton's Iwobi suffers a severe defeat as Newcastle holds Arsenal.

Everton's inconsistency has been one of their recurring traits this season. On Tuesday, Alex Iwobi's team suffered a humiliating 4-1 home defeat to Brighton, following their gallant 1-1 victory over Manchester City.

Many people thought that Iwobi and his Everton teammates had made progress, but Brighton beat them humblingly at home.

After the first 45 minutes, the Toffees only had a goal in their possession. Everton was expected to come back stronger in the second half, but they fell like a pack of cards and gave up three goals in six minutes.

After Kaoru Mitoma's goal in the 14th minute of the first half, Evan Ferguson scored in the 51st minute to make it 2-0 for Brighton. Solly March and Pascal Gross scored in the 54th and 57th minutes, respectively, to give Brighton a 4-0 lead.

Even though Everton's Demarai Gray scored from the spot in extra time, the goal had little impact on the game's outcome.

Frank Lampard now faces the possibility of losing his job as a result of Everton fans turning on the team and booing and throwing smoke bombs on the pitch following Tuesday's match, making this the first time he has lost three consecutive home games in the Premier League as a player or manager since 2001.

In the meantime, Iwobi received a caution in the 75th minute of the game at Goodison Park.
Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho of the Super Eagles also lost at home elsewhere; as they fell to Fulham 1-0.

The Foxes, who are having trouble maintaining their lead in the Premier League standings, suffered their third defeat in a row on Tuesday.

Ndidi remained in the starting lineup under Brendan Rodgers and was active prior to Rodgers' substitution in the 72nd minute. The Nigerian midfielder received a 61st-minute caution from the official prior to his departure.

In the 72nd minute, Rodgers brought on Iheanacho, but he was unable to alter the Foxes' fortunes, who have now been devoured by every Premier League opponent.
Arsenal held in a 0-0 draw at the Emirates as Newcastle United slowed Arsenal's momentum. Before being beaten by the Magpies, the Gunners had won ten consecutive games at the Emirates.

In a game that had numerous flashpoints and threatened to boil over, referee Andy Madley issued eight yellow cards, four to each team. In 18 EPL games, the Magpies have only let in 11 goals.

In the final match of the day, Manchester United defeated AFC Bournemouth 3-0 to continue their excellent run.
